Print Pilot Project and Production of the Main Catalog for Wörner
Background information
In 2019, Kittelberger initially produced a segment catalog for Wörner Medizinprodukte and subsequently completed the production of the full catalog for both print and online distribution. The production was based on the advastamedia® PIM and MAM system, including data mapping, import of the provided image and product data, and available print output functions.

Wörner Medizinprodukte und Logistik GmbH, based in Reutlingen, specializes in the full-service supply of medical practices. With a comprehensive range of laboratory, consultation, and practice supplies, Wörner serves practices, regional networks, and clinics nationwide as a medical products wholesaler—offering optimal conditions.
Kittelberger has been supporting Wörner since 2019 with services related to advastamedia® and automated catalog production.
Until then, the Wörner catalog had been maintained exclusively in InDesign. Additionally, data needed to be consolidated: prices, article data, and image data were previously stored in separate source files. These data sets were extracted, merged by Kittelberger’s database services, and then imported into our advastamedia® system.
Online Catalog and Print Catalog
Within just a few weeks, the Urology segment catalog was implemented as a pilot project. The database was set up and various output functions were programmed. As a result, the database and export features were immediately ready for the subsequent production of the complete catalog. Both the pilot and main catalog are now also available in print. Integration of the eShop with the database is currently in planning.

The generation time for a preview PDF of the catalog with approximately 400 pages is under 30 minutes — “this is a huge success for us and a tremendous relief. It enables us to work efficiently with such a large publication,” says Matthias Neumeyer, project manager of the annual catalog.
Next steps include layout optimization, database integration, and training for Wörner, so that catalog maintenance can be fully managed in-house in the future.
