Integration with the myTheben Shop
Theben AG offers selected products and clearance items at special prices in its myTheben shop. On the website www.theben.de, these products are now equipped with “Buy Product” buttons that link directly to the corresponding product detail pages in the myTheben shop. This allows website visitors to seamlessly continue and complete the purchase process.
The shop managers at Theben AG maintain the offered products directly within the website’s CMS, enabling quick and easy updates in response to changes in the myTheben shop’s assortment. Links can be conveniently added or removed as needed.
ELBRIDGE Interface Connects Wholesaler Online Shops
A second e-commerce feature was developed specifically for tradespeople and other business customers. These users can now collect products in a cart on the Theben website and transfer them to the wholesaler of their choice via the ELBRIDGE interface.
Commercial users must authenticate via the myTheben portal, Theben AG’s Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) system. This connection is based on the oauth2 protocol.
Once successfully authenticated, users can place any number of products in the cart and transfer them in JSON format through the interface. The purchase process is then completed in the selected wholesaler’s online shop. This integration brings wholesalers into the purchasing journey and allows them to benefit from the reach and traffic of the Theben website, ultimately generating additional sales.
Configuration of the content and parameters for the ELBRIDGE interface is also managed directly by Theben’s shop managers via the website CMS.
The ELBRIDGE interface was defined by ETIM Deutschland e.V., an initiative for standardizing electronic product data exchange in the electrical and related industries. The interface is based on established industry standards and uses data structures aligned with BMEcat ETIM.
Kittelberger media solutions GmbH has been supporting Theben AG since 2018 in the areas of product data and media asset management, as well as in website and print automation projects.
