Sigel GmbH

Sigel GmbH, based in Mertingen, was founded in 1947 and has since evolved from a printing company into one of the key players in the office supplies and stationery industry. Its success is driven by around 300 employees who bring experience, dedication, and initiative to continuously deliver better solutions to the market.

In 2005, we implemented a central media-neutral database for Sigel based on advastamedia®. The database is used for the centralized storage of media assets required for marketing and sales. The project included not only the development of the database itself, but also the creation of a customized online maintenance application, the implementation of a central image database, and the dynamic production of the catalog using QuarkXPress. Additionally, we produced the central price list dynamically using Adobe InDesign. The database system and the web-based maintenance application are operated on a LINUX server in Sigel GmbH’s data center. The browser-based maintenance tool and the production of printed materials are carried out on Apple Macintosh systems.
